Frequently asked questions

FAQs

  • I am a trauma-informed therapist first and foremost, which means that I don’t ask “what is wrong with you” I ask, “what has happened to you.”  I believe that healing can happen in the presence of a safe therapeutic relationship and that looks different for every client.

My most commonly used evidential-based treatment modalities include but are not limited to:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Self-Compassion Theory.

  • When you are fist beginning counseling sessions, I recommend you come weekly for the initial 4 sessions.

After that, we can decide together what makes the most sense for you. (Clients can choose weekly or bi-monthly depending on their needs.)

Once you have made some progress in a reduction of symptoms and are gaining traction in your life it is common to begin spacing your sessions further apart.

All of this is ultimately your decision and we will have ongoing dialogue about how the pace feels for you.

All sessions are offered in a HIPAA compliant video meeting.

  • I do not currently offer free consultations for counseling clients, noting that you are never obligated to pay more than one session at a time.

Hopefully, you have gotten a sense of who I am and how I can help by familiarizing yourself with me on this website.

You are also welcome to text/email/or call with questions and I do my best to assess if we are a fit before your first session.

In my experience, it works best to try a session to determine if you want to commit to ongoing work together.

  • Counseling is $155 per session and payment will be processed automatically the same day after your session with the card of your choice which is kept in your portal (debit, credit, HSA).

Sliding scale pricing is reserved for current counseling clients only and may be utilized in times of economic need.

I do not work with insurance and all sessions are self-pay.

  • If you need to cancel your session, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session to avoid paying the full session fee.

I work, as much as possible, to support you in rescheduling when emergencies come up.
